At the Chinese hospital we were told that the baby would not get a bath the day she was born.
That was odd - but we didn't mind. Leaving the antibodies from birth on the baby as long as possible is a natural protectant. Their reasons probably have something to do with ancient custom, but that was fine with us.
Because the Chinese want a new mother to avoid water for a month, we assumed something similar for babies.
Not so.
Babies haven't lost anything during birth, so there's no need to avoid cold (although they do think babies should be dressed and bundled at all times). We were told today that the Chinese traditionally bathe their newborns daily. Again, we seem to be a little off target if we want to follow Chinese tradition.
Bonnie Rose loved her bath. She cooed, and watched and enjoyed the time with mommy and daddy. She even didn't mind the naked-pictures, since I tried to be as discreet as possible.

Love these pics! I cannot believe how great it is to see the blogs...it makes me feel like I am still there. Missing the action is tough - but we are waiting on our little one here now....
