Edibles

The best gifts are those you can eat. You don't have to find a place
to store them or take them outdoors because they make you sneeze.
Plus, they're useful.

Last week Grandma & Grandpa Coleman sent my sister and I an Edible
Arrangement. I forgot to get a picture but it wad awesome - and huge.
We ate on it all week.

Then, on Saturday morning just before my mom's funeral we got another
one. This one came from Aunt Mae, who always supplies us with food at
just the right time. We took it to the funeral home and everyone
enjoyed it with lunch. I really liked being able to eat our
arrangement and not carry it home afterwards.

Thanks to everyone who came to the funeral, called, or sent flowers
and especially sent food. It's the first time I've spent an entire
week eating constantly and still lost weight

Bailey's hideout

Bailey and I are in Michigan. It wa a long day for her on Sunday, it ended up being more than 12 hours by the time we got to our hotel. This afternoon after I got back from school I took a nap, and she crawled up under my covers and slept there with me. Now she's lying on my bathrobe while I catch up on my email. I think she misses her house and her dog. I know he misses her - dad says Andy's been moping around all day. :-(

Poor babies. Change is so hard on animals.

Box hell

Remember the beautiful new guest room, AKA Michelle & William's room? before that it was Stevie and Luke's room. Sad. But the good news is, anything anyone might want from the house can now be found elsewhere. Well - not yet. In a couple of weeks. SO MANY boxes!

No hand signals

No, dad is not flipping anyone (or anything) off - although, plumbing does frustrate him.

He is explaining what he has left to do. It actually turned out really nice. You just can't tell from this kind of picture.

Happy 33rd Anniversary

Not exactly how we wanted to spend the day - but at least we are together.

Well, sort of.

I'm in the other end of the house, listening from afar.

Yogi's Safehouse

I mentioned before that Yogi was nipping at one of the baby goats. It's just in fun, but he gets a little rough. He won't control himself in this matter (payback for her butting him when he was tiny), so I've taken to using a muzzle with him when I'm home, and want him with the baby goats. He's not too happy about it.

Lately, when I go outside, even to feed him, he runs into his cage - where apparently he thinks he'll be safe from me putting the muzzle on him. The trouble is, he's been wearing it so much, I don't think he realizes he's already got it on.

He doesn't have to wear it all the time, just occasionally when I'm outside with him, or home and can monitor how he is. He can still eat and drink with it on, just isn't able to get a goat's hind leg into his mouth.

New Friends in a Storm

We had a whopper of a storm last night. I recognized it as tornado weather, although nothing touched down. The local wildlife became a little disoriented when the wind and rain came up - and one family ended up on my patio.

I realize I probably don't want this family to visit very often but I couldn't help enjoying it this time. They were a family of 3 babies and a mother (who ran away when I went to greet them). The babies didn't realize they were supposed to be afraid of me and so just acted shy, hiding behind the cat food box.

If you listen closely you can hear their little purring noises. The third baby stayed hidden but he's there, and waiting for me to go inside and turn off the light so he can eat the cat food. Momma eventually came back to get the babies but only after I went inside. I watched as she retrieved them and they waddled happily off in the rain.
