Truckee River near Tahoe City

I love this place. No need to go to Brazil for amazing scenery, all anyone would need is right here.

"The Tree"

The tree that used to stand in the center of town has been reduced to a memory and a whittled statue commemorating it. It stands directly next to its original spot (in front of the Family Tree restaurant, now with a new name). This is on a new walkway built on the slope above the lake.

I had forgotten how much I love Tahoe Stellar Jays. They are much larger than a typical Blue Bird, and I had forgotten that too.
