Godafoss Falls Akureyri
40 years ago we saw the Niagara Falls. Godafoss is their twin. Simply spectacular. And so old. You can see the stages of the old bridge and how it was redone over the years.
Akureyri Iceland
From melting iceberg rivers, to bubbling sulfuric acid, Akureyri is one of the most beautiful and contrasting of all landscapes. Just a few pics today. More to come.

Penguin Habitat
So few US zoos have penguins. This is the most natural place to see them. These are the larger ones about 2 1/2 feet high.

Viking Museum Oslo
The Viking Museum was really interesting. The three ships they have there were excavated in early 1900s. They were ships for a while but each one had been turned in to a burial ship. My favorite was the queen's.
The ship had been fully stocked with all the provisions a queen might need to have a comfortable place in the afterlife.
These are only a few things we saw. This museum contains the oldest artifacts of this time period. These boats were buried between 840 AD and 920 AD before the founding of Oslo, which was in the year 1000.

11 things to do
We picked up this list of things to do in Malmö from the Visitor Information center. We decided to NOT do number 3.
Biggest petunia ever
I had to figure out how they did this! It's not just one pot - not even a pot at all. Plant is in plastic with little holes to poke out of the frame. Great idea. I might just try it. Lots of plants make up this singular display. We were in Malmö Sweden here, first stop.
Malmö Sweden
We visited this town only a 20 minute train ride over the ocean. It was not as nice or interesting as Copenhagen. But I'm glad we went. We did have a great meal at an Irish place called Paddy's. Best lamb dish I've ever had. So that was nice.
Not much to see here tho. We did take a canal ride and liked that.

Food court art
I'm not sure what inspires all the food court in London Heathrow but some of it is very cool. The stacked books on the wall were in a comfy coffee shop where we had breakfast.
I decided to not take a picture of the giant ceramic bull.

Baby birds
I have this barn swallow that comes back to the same spot every year. She always builds her nest in the rafters just above the light bulb fixture. This year all her babies made it and left the nest with mom without falling out before fully feathered.
So now there is a new resident. I can't tell what kind of bird she is, but she has at least four babies nestled under the feed trays on a shelf in the barn. I kept hearing them chirp when I would go out, but today is the first time I spotted where they were. I snapped a few pictures and flew the coop myself so not to make momma mad.
Now I want to watch there progress and make sure Hamilton or Augie does not eat them.
