Snips and Snails...

What's the old poem? What are little boys made of? Well, this is proof, at least for our little guy. He is all about puppy dog's tails from now 'till Halloween.

Probably longer, if he takes after his mother.

(you can blame Nana for this)

Sugar and Spice

...and a bit of pink lace, that's what this little girl is made of.

Just wait, though, until she can wear a Ladybug outfit.

Family Pic

As much as we all dislike church directory pictures, it's nice for the rest of us. When else do we get to see the entire family?

Atlanta International

Oh, do I ever love Atlanta!!!! so international, and so amazing. I am actually in an area called Alpharetta, just north of the city. Sort of reminds me of Orange county in a way.

Tonight I had tandoori chicken from India. When the plate of food comes, the cast iron plate is so hot, the onions are sizzling and stay that way for 10 minutes.

There are so many little Indian places here and tandoori has to be one of the best things I have ever had, especially as chicken; it is marinated in yogurt, lemon juice, and plenty of spices, then grilled or broiled with onions, large juicy slices. I think they marinate the chicken in the yogurt for 8 hours or so. I am going to have to learn to make this. I just wish I had known what to order it with; I didn't get any sides (not that I had room to eat them).

Last night I had Turkish food, lamb and some feta/veggie salad that was awesome. I missed the belly dancing though :-( because I got lost and so ended up at the Turkish place instead of the Indian place (which I went to tonight). Belly dancing is an entertainment they provide Thursday through Sunday. Oh well, if you ever come to visit me in Nashville we can drive up to Atlanta and spend a few days. After the Olympics it has dramatically changed, becoming more or less the 'Seattle of the South' - highly international, cultural and only a shadow of southern life left. You can't even tell you are in Georgia. You can even buy wine in the stores!!

Don't you just love a warm bath?

Unless your name is Andy.

Slim & trim

Andy has lost weight since Michelle and I aren't around to give him left overs. He has dropped 6.5 pounds! Think about the percentage that is to his size. Doesn't he look energetic?

Be careful what you wish

Yesterday it rained. Big time - 2.92" according to the official report in Humphreys County.

It wasn't a windy storm, just heavy rain all night and all day. Today was clear, a good day to work outside.

There was this loud C-R-A-C-K. Then the billie goats went running.

A large hickory tree in the goat pen decided its branches were too heavy from all the rain, so a large branch just broke right off. They had been trying to climb one of the other trees from some leaves.

Looks like they got their wish. This branch should keep them busy a few days.

Goats will climb anything

We took the goats a bale of hay yesterday. Of course, goats love to climb, but I had not idea they would be able to climb a round bale on its side, over five feet high.

They kept butting each other off. I think I need to build them a jungle-jim.
