A week's growth

It rained for a week and the lettuce didn't get picked. I have enough now to feed the neighborhood. And I only picked less than half what was ready.

Potato harvest

After the potatoes sit in the pots for 12-16 weeks, this is what you get.

Just a bucket

So this guy may not be completely professional but he inspired me to try the potted potato method.

That'll be next week's project.

Summer blooms

These white flowers are called Osteosperum. The common name is Daisy Bushes. These are perennials, which I really like to use. These should bloom all summer.

It's about time!

This has been a LONG TIME coming!  I cannot tell you how happy I am. It's one of my only complaints about living in Tennessee...... and now, we'll finally be able to purchase wine for our dinner along WITH our dinner ingredients!  No more needing to stop at some shady liquor store to get a nice wine. I'm sure I will still be able to, especially if I need something other than wine.

We really are living in the 21st century now!  no more hanging on to laws made during prohibition.....
At least, this will be a reality in most counties.  Humphries may remain a "semi-dry" county, where restaurants still cannot serve wine with meals. But hey, it's a baby step, and at least where I shop (outside Humphries) this is becoming a reality.

This is an aisle in our Kroger.

Garden

Planted garlic 5 days ago and it's already 4" high. The zucchini and melon plants are also doing well. Today I'm putting out potatoes.

Nesting dove

I've been gardening. Yesterday Steve and I were admiring things and noticed a new neighbor. On top of the ladder, do you see her? She doesn't even move when I walk over there to get tools - which are right next to that ladder. We all have strict instructions:! No moving that ladder until Momma and babies move out!

Veggies

I only had four skewers so I put the rest on a tray and they all were just as good. Tastes great on salad the next day too.
Some people dislike zucchini. But the baby ones sure do taste great when grilled with onions.

Teaser - favorite Fairy Tale of all

Since I was a very little girl this has been my favorite fairy tale.  I've seen at least 10 versions of this over the last 40 years.

Now there's a new one coming.  I'm SO excited about it!!

Augie home

Augie was very happy to see the kids today and he even joined Michelle in a selfie. That is a rare occurrence which, once he feels better will likely not happen again.

Augie is home

Augie spent the night at the vet and he really missed his family. They missed him, too. Took a while to check everyone out.

Hi Little Joe, it's me

Obi loves his little goat. He named him Little Joe. After a stressful day he went to check on them. Made everyone feel better.

Mothers garden

I spent Mother's Day weeding and planting flowers, clearing out the attic, and digging rocks and crabgrass out to plant new ground cover. All this after a gorgeous Mimosa brunch with Michelle and William (who did all the cooking). Thanks for a lovely and tiring day.

Yes, it's tea party time

Obi could not decide which hat suited our occasion. Rosie was more concerned with serving Dancing Bear.

Montgomery Bell state park

15 minutes from Dickson. We decided our guests should stay here.
